Tomorrow, January 26th, DES will celebrate the 100th Day of School. Students are encouraged to celebrate by wearing clothing that depicts 100 or 100 items on their clothing! Be creative!! The year is more than halfway over!
The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for Custodial Workers. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED prior to employment and successfully pass a TBI fingerprint background screening. The applicant will also need a completed Health Screening Physical Form from a licensed Physician. Due to the weather this week, FFIN has been cancelled at DES. In an effort to communicate the work will will be doing, teachers have created videos explaining the upcoming academic standards. Decatur County Schools will be closed next week due to the low temperatures as well as the lack of heat in some areas of the school system and the threat of bad weather. We hope this will keep everyone safe and warm and we look forward to seeing students return on Monday, January 22nd. All afterschool will be closed.

Decatur County Schools will be closed on Monday for MLK Jr day and then closed the remainder of the week due to extremely low temperatures and the threat of inclement weather. Wind chills are predicted to be in the negatives and we want to keep everyone safe and warm.
REMINDER: The Decatur County Sheriff's Department will be on site tomorrow (Tuesday, 1/9) at Decaturville Elementary to fingerprint students.
