Senate bill 1897 and House Bill 1744. If passed, each of these bills would allow all students to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost and would require the state of Tennessee to reimburse each LEA the cost of providing a free breakfast and lunch to each student enrolled after all available federal funds have been applied.
School Nutrition Association is encouraging our school administrators, teachers, and parents to contact your senator and representative in your district. We all know there is strength in numbers so they thought the more people we share it with the more we could get it directed to the ones who have the ability to institute change.

In the last few days, there has been a rumor going around that there is a student at Riverside who identifies as a cat and has demanded to have a litter box in the bathrooms. This rumor also says there will be a special called board meeting to address this issue.
These rumors are absolutely false. There is not any student who identifies as a cat, there has been no demand for a litter box, and there will not be a special called board meeting about this.
We hate that this rumor has been spreading and is making our school look bad in the public eye. Our school was recently named a Reward School and we have several great things happening at Riverside. We are disappointed that these rumors are being told in our community and ask that everyone please stop perpetuating this rumor.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at (731) 852-3941 and we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for supporting our school!
Adam Wood, Principal
