Cafeteria Workers
The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for part-time and full-time Cafeteria Workers/Substitute for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. A cafeteria worker is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving food for students and staff, helping with deliveries and inventory and daily cleaning of cafeteria area and equipment where food is prepared. They must be able to lift 40 pounds. The Decatur County School System is seeking applicants for a Guidance Counselor. Applications may be picked up at the Board of Education Office or downloaded from www.decaturcountyschools.com under the Employment tab. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an endorsement in Counseling PreK-12 will be considered for the position. The Decatur County School System will be holding a fundraiser at Rhinestones and Rust this Sunday during Open House from 1-5pm. All schools will be involved in wrapping gifts for donations and funds to the attendance incentive funds. Please come out and see us Sunday!

Today, the DC BOE received a phone call from the Secret Service Field Office in Memphis and were notified that students from Henderson and Decatur Counties personal information may have been used to fictitiously file taxes and apply for loans. If you have received any suspicious calls, emails, or letters regarding your students personal information asking for or to verify their information, please email Dr. Lyndi King at lyndi.king@decaturschools.org or Mr. Hugh Smith at hugh.smith@decaturschools.org with your child’s name, school, the contact you received (call, letter, email), and a call back number to reach you. We are so proud of our Director of Schools, Mr. V, for speaking at a meeting about the great things Decatur County is doing to raise ACT scores for our students! While the state average has gone down since Covid, Decatur county students continue to climb! Way to go!!
