Today is National "Read a Book" day! We encourage everyone to read a book with their child today and enjoy that time together! "The best predictor of future education achievement and life success is reading ability," (Guthrie, 2017).
Students will be in school Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Thursday will be inservice for teachers and Parent Teacher conference from 2:00-6:00pm. Friday is a professional development day for teachers.

Grilling with Grands, Thursday, September 8th, from 5:30-7:30, is a PTO fundraiser event. It is not just for grandparents, everyone is welcome; however, each student must be accompanied by an adult. This is Parent Teacher Conference day, there is no school for students this day.

Registration from 7:30-9:00 and 4:45-5:45 will serve as a “meet your teacher” time. Teachers will have calendars, free and reduced lunch forms, and other grade specific materials available and ready to hand out. This time can also be useful to bring in supplies that might get heavy in for the student on the first day of school.
As far as registration, it does not have to be resubmitted if early registration was completed. However, if any information has changed (phone numbers, addresses, authorized to pick up list, etc.)since early registration, parents/guardians need to go back in and make the changes.
Decaturville Elementary's Open house will be on August 1st from 4:45-5:45. Kindergarten parents are encouraged to attend to pick up their child's staggered start schedule.
