
Paraprofessional (Teaching Assistant)
The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for a Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) position. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior to employment, the applicant selected must verify 2 years of college or pass the Parapro Assessment. Applicants must also successfully pass a TBI Fingerprint Background check as well as a physical by a Licensed Physician. Decatur County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 16th for MLK, Jr. Day. Students will be back in school on Tuesday.


DCMS Cheer Coach
The Decatur County School System is seeking applicants for the position of Middle School Cheerleading Coach. Applicants should submit an application and/or detailed resume that includes previous employment experience. Coaching experience, along with a Tennessee Teaching License is preferred, but not required to be considered for the position. Report Cards will come home with students Friday, January 6th, 2023. Please check with your student to see their report card or check Parent Vue.


DES will host the second quarter FFIN on Tuesday, January 10th at 5:30. Please make plans to attend! Students will do fun and educational STEM activities in the gym with Jennifer Medford from PBS, and parents will go to the classrooms for information on standards for the rest of the year. Attention: Car rider parents/grandparents should not line up before 2:00 p.m.! Please share this information with anyone picking up your child at DES that may not get our messages.

Today at our central office luncheon and meeting, we said goodbye to Ms. Ginger Teague, our coordinated school health leader. We will miss Ms. Ginger and wish her luck in her retirement and future endeavors!
