The Decatur County School System will be holding a fundraiser at Rhinestones and Rust this Sunday during Open House from 1-5pm. All schools will be involved in wrapping gifts for donations and funds to the attendance incentive funds. Please come out and see us Sunday!

Today, the DC BOE received a phone call from the Secret Service Field Office in Memphis and were notified that students from Henderson and Decatur Counties personal information may have been used to fictitiously file taxes and apply for loans. If you have received any suspicious calls, emails, or letters regarding your students personal information asking for or to verify their information, please email Dr. Lyndi King at lyndi.king@decaturschools.org or Mr. Hugh Smith at hugh.smith@decaturschools.org with your child’s name, school, the contact you received (call, letter, email), and a call back number to reach you. If you have not received any suspicious contacts, there is no need to contact us at this time. Thank you very much!

The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for an Elementary Teaching position. Applications may be picked up at the Board of Education Office or filled out online by clicking the Certified Application link under Employment on our school system website www.decaturcountyschools.com. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an appropriate endorsement for elementary education will be considered for the position. Applications should be completed online, sent to Hugh Smith, Human Resources Supervisor, at Decatur County Board of Education, 59 West Main Street, Decaturville, TN 38329 or emailed to hugh.smith@decaturschools.org. The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, November 11, 2022.

Riverside High School Fall Theatre Class will present Once on This Island. Opening Night (Nov. 10th @6pm) will be Theatre & Hors d’oeurves. Additional performances Saturday night (Nov. 12th @7pm) and Sunday afternoon (Nov. 13th @2:30pm).

We are so proud of our Director of Schools, Mr. V, for speaking at a meeting about the great things Decatur County is doing to raise ACT scores for our students! While the state average has gone down since Covid, Decatur county students continue to climb! Way to go!!
Tonight there will be Student Parent Involvement Night at DCMS at 5:30 and Reading Trunk or Treat at Parsons Elementary at 6:00.
