We get to celebrate our students tomorrow! Awards times: 5th and 6th Grades, 8:45; 7th, 9:30; and 8th, 10:15. Pics for the paper will be made at the end of each awards time. Some students have asked about dressing up and they may do so as long as they adhere to dress code.

Starting the 2024-2025 school year, Decatur County Schools will be participating in the CEP program or Community Eligibility Provision meaning all Decatur County Schools students are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch meal at no cost. This is a program offered through USDA that any school that participates in the Nation School Breakfast and Lunch Programs can apply for and see if they qualify. This is a PILOT PROGRAM for one year for Decatur County. We hope to be able to continue for more than one year but that will depend on student participation and sustainability financially. This is great news for families in Decatur County so we wanted to go ahead and let families know.
With USDA programs there are guidelines we have to follow on what and how much we can serve. We wanted to get feedback from students on what meals you would like to see served that we don’t already serve or what are some of your favorite meals. Parents, please ask your students and return any comments by Friday May 24th.

The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for an Elementary Teaching position. Applications may be picked up at the Board of Education Office or by clicking the Certified Application link under Employment on our school system website www.decaturcountyschools.com. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an appropriate endorsement for Elementary Education (PreK-4, K-5, or K-8) will be considered for the position.
