Ms. Brandi Smith, Assistant Principal, was named employee of the month for DCMS. This honor was bestowed upon her by the entire faculty of DCMS via a survey that was sent out. Ms. Brandi is in her first year as assistant principal at DCMS and her third year with Decatur County Schools.
Ms. Brandi grew up in Decatur County and graduated from Riverside High School. She and her children moved back to DC in 2020 to be close to family and to raise her children in our small town environment. Previously, Ms. brandi served as the Principal at Sweetwater Junior High School and greatly believes in helping students to find purpose and to be good citizens and humans.
Brandi has been a great asset for our school system and an even greater asset to our middle school. Ms. Brandi is in charge of the RTI-B program in which good behavior and citizenship is taught and rewarded. One of her contributions to the middle school has been her "Keys of the Month" in which students focus on a key that helps to make students good citizens and people by learning things such as speaking with good purpose. We are very lucky to have Ms. Brandi in our school system and at our middle school! Thank you Ms. Brandi!
