Recently, Decatur County CTE Supervisor, Dr. Lyndi King, RHS teacher Janet Pettigrew, and student Brodie Fowler met with Governor Bill Lee in Nashville at the Capitol. As part of the Jobs for America's Graduates Tennessee program, Brodie Fowler, JAGTN Parliamentarian was able to meet with Governor Lee and members of the House of Representatives. Among the topic of discussions was the bill to arm TN teachers, which was of great interest to the students in attendance.

Because of the JAGTN program, Brodie Fowler has had the chance to visit Washington DC and meet with Senators and tour the US Capitol, as well as this opportunity to visit with the Governor and visit Tennessee's Capitol. Brodie has had the opportunity to travel and learn from other students as well as to compete in public speaking, visit various post-secondary institutions, apply and earn scholarships, and so much more. The opportunity to have JAGTN in Decatur County is transformational for the students in our system and brings so many opportunities for students to participate in once in a lifetime events.
