
In honor of Director of Schools appreciation month, RHS English II students honored Mr. V with a collection of food for those in need!


It’s UTrust Director of Schools Appreciation Month and we have one of the best! He’s had many obstacles thrown at him but keeps on giving us his BEST! DCMS collected over 600 boxes (our goal was 450) of Mac and Cheese in honor of Mr Chris Villaflor! This donation will be going to a our local DC Community Thanksgiving Outreach! This donation will help to feed a lot of elderly and needy folks in Decatur County! Thank you to all who helped! It was much appreciated!


Join us Thursday at Lewis County as basketball season begins and Friday cheer on your Panther football team as they take on Lewis County in round three of the playoffs at LC! Basketball game is at 6pm Thursday and the football game is at 7pm Friday!

Cafeteria Workers
The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for part-time and full-time Cafeteria Workers/Substitute for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. A cafeteria worker is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving food for students and staff, helping with deliveries and inventory and daily cleaning of cafeteria area and equipment where food is prepared. They must be able to lift 40 pounds. The Decatur County School System is seeking applicants for a Guidance Counselor. Applications may be picked up at the Board of Education Office or downloaded from www.decaturcountyschools.com under the Employment tab. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an endorsement in Counseling PreK-12 will be considered for the position. Applications should be sent to Hugh Smith, Human Resources Supervisor, at Decatur County Board of Education, 59 West Main Street, Decaturville, TN or emailed to hugh.smith@decaturschools.org. The deadline for submitting an application is Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Congratulations to our Decatur County youth who are being recognized as Tennessee Youth Livestock All-Stars.
Congratulations to Anna Kate Jackson, Molly Wyatt, and Blair Oevermann!
They were selected based on their exemplary performance in the youth livestock projects through exhibitions, judging and other livestock competitions encompassing beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep and goats.




DES will be hosting a bake sale on Sunday, 11/6 beginning at 1:00pm. Go out and support our students!!

The Decatur County School System will be holding a fundraiser at Rhinestones and Rust this Sunday during Open House from 1-5pm. All schools will be involved in wrapping gifts for donations and funds to the attendance incentive funds. Please come out and see us Sunday!
