The Decatur County Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Schools. This leadership role presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of education in Decatur County by driving student achievement, supporting educators, and fostering strong community partnerships.
Qualifications Include:
A professional educator's license
A master’s degree in education (preference given to candidates with a doctorate degree)
A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in school administration
Such other qualifications as the Board deems desirable
Essential Functions:
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
General Administration: Overseeing the district’s daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Financial Management: Managing budgets, resources, and funding to support district goals.
Instructional Leadership: Guiding curriculum and instruction to improve student outcomes.
Personnel Administration: Leading recruitment, retention, and professional development of staff.
Community/Public Relations: Building strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
Terms of Employment:
The Director of Schools will serve in accordance with the terms of the contract established between the Board of Education and the candidate.
Salary is negotiable and will be determined by the Board of Education.
