Johnathan Phillips is joining the faculty at Decatur County Middle School to teach 7th-grade Math. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Middle School Mathematics.
Senior Director of Expansion and Development at the Ayers Foundation, Dr. Angela Marshall, stated that she is “so proud of Johnathan’s accomplishments and passion for education. I am glad to know he will be at DCMS and can serve as a role model for overcoming challenges and being determined to achieve your goals!”
Mr. Phillips said his ultimate ambition is to extend his career into higher education by becoming a math or math education professor at a university. Furthermore, he concludes, “this year, I am looking forward and working hard to become the bridge that fuses learning and having fun while doing it. I am excited to begin my career with Decatur County Middle and look forward to what's to come!”
