Wade

Ms. Emily Wade, a lifelong resident of Decatur County, will teach Kindergarten at Parsons Elementary beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Ms. Emily attended Decatur County Schools from elementary through high school, where she graduated in 2020. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and is certified to teach K through 5th grades. Wade states, “I am so excited to be back where I went to school during my elementary years. It truly is a full circle moment, and I can’t thank the good Lord enough for allowing me to be put back in this wonderful school that I’ve always loved!”

Parsons Elementary Principal Lisa Renfroe said she “feels an honor to hire her as a kindergarten teacher when I was her kindergarten teacher.” Dr. Tammie Patterson, Director of Educational Studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin-Parsons Center, stated she “saw infinite potential [of Wade] throughout all her courses and is confident of her future success within her own classroom.” When asked about this new chapter, Wade concluded that, “I am looking forward to learning so many new things in my first year of teaching to help me in my career for the years to come! I can’t wait to have my first classroom where I can form relationships with my students and watch them continue to grow throughout their years of education! I also look forward to the mentorship and guidance from my co-workers this year!” Going forward, Ms. Emily hopes to pursue and obtain a Master’s degree.

Ms. Emily is the daughter of Jason and Melinda Wade. She has a brother, Luke, and a sister, Lillian. She has also been in a relationship for 5 years with Casen Reddix. In her free time, Wade loves shopping (where you can probably find her at any local boutique). She enjoys watching softball and basketball and spending time with her family and friends. And if she gets a few minutes, she loves concerts, especially seeing her favorite artist Cody Johnson!

Decatur County School is excited to have Ms. Emily coming home! We are proud to see products of our system investing back into it. Everyone, please welcome and support Ms. Emily as she begins this next chapter.
