Decatur County Schools

Ms. Dixie James was named Teacher of the Month at Parsons Elementary School for the month of October. Her fellow teachers said, “She goes above and beyond to schedule awesome events. She makes sure they are well planned, and the staff is informed. She is excellent with planning and organizing events for the school. The October calendar and fliers she created made it so much easier to keep up with all of the events of the month. Dixie does so much for our school! She plans, orchestrates, and prepares so many tiny details behind the scenes that often go unnoticed. She did everything in her power to make sure every child in our school had a Halloween costume and was able to celebrate with their peers. PES is blessed to have her!!” Ms. Dixie teaches Kindergarten and is a Decatur County native and graduate of Riverside High School.  Ms. Dixie is a huge blessing to Parsons Elementary and the students and families she serves. Thank you for coming home to make such a difference!
